Frequently Asked Questions

How does Newt paint the cards/canvases?

Great question! While we do use the term “paw-made”, Newt does not usually use his paws while painting. Once he has picked out the colors he wants, we place the card with the paint in a plastic bag. The bag will have something yummy spread on it for Newt to lick, and then the painting begins! We thought “paw-made” sounded better than “tongue-made”!

I want to select colors for my custom piece, but I don’t know what they look like!

A chart of all the colors we currently have in stock is on this page. Additionally, all of our cards have the colors used in their description. If you like the colors you see on a pre-made card, check out the colors listed!

How does the Design Kit work?

Great question! Our design kits come with paint, bags, design cards, order form, and instructions for your pup. Once they’ve painted their piece you let it dry and mail it back to us in the pre-paid envelope provided. Before mailing, fill out our order form with what you would like us to put your pet’s design on! We’ll email you a unique login to a page just for you! Then you can see a preview and place an order for whatever you’d like your pup’s design on!

Why does shipping take so long for custom pieces?

We try to be as efficient as possible when a custom order is placed, but sometimes puppies have minds of their own! In order to keep Newt’s tummy happy, and him excited about painting we try to paint a maximum of three cards per day.

Why cards? Why have your dog paint?

Growing up, I remember how special I felt when making a card to give to someone. The person receiving the card felt just as special because they knew I worked hard to make something just for them. I think the magic of cards has started to dwindle, especially when your only options are whatever a big company has mass-produced that year. Newt painting these cards adds a little more delight and uniqueness to whomever you give his card too.
